We had agreed early in the trip to splurge on a motel once during the journey. This, like most plans, didn't exactly work out. We enjoyed the time away from Galapagos, watched some cable and thoroughly stopped thinking about the road. It was also our first showers since Monteray, about 3500 miles before.
