The fog clears on a rainy night
to reveal the morning sunrise.
Soft moist dew on the grass and windows
often blinds our morning vision.
Young children laugh and play in the sun,
then grow old to become something
like the parents they never really had.
Empty houses and lonely dinners
give time for solitude and thought.
Rare attempts to befriend the wild animal
can leave a scar of tears.
All of the years we live and when
our times at end
do we all comprehend, that all our
lives are different
yet the same.

diferents sinó la mateixa cosa.
Heràclit
La boira clareja en una nit de pluja
deixant entreveure l'albada.
Una suau rosada humiteja l'herba i la finestra
difuminat una mica la imatge del matí.
Els nens petits que ara juguen i riuen al sol
creixeran per esdevenenir alguna cosa,
com els pares que mai han tingut de debò.
Les cases buides i els sopars sense ningú
donen temps per a la solitud i els pensaments.
Els escasos intents d'ajudar l'animal salvatge
poden deixar-nos una cicatriu de llàgrimes.
Per mols anys que visquem,
a la fi del nostre temps tots comprendrem
que totes les nostres vides tan diferents
són la mateixa exactament.
