The 1995 Winner's
1.Statuary
A statuary keeper closes herself off from the world outside of the fence that
surrounds her yard, and lives in a world of statues. A recent college graduate
tries job after job in her search for meaningful paying work, that will involve
her with her community. "Statuary" interweaves their stories, satirizing the
difficulty of the latter's task, while detailing the former's self imposed
isolation. Both portraits reflect upon the many types of choices that
individuals face between passivity and activity, and between isolation and
involvement.

2.Visions
Based within the oral tradition of storytelling, surrounded in a multi-textured
audio landscape of music, voice and sound this poetry film attempts to translate
into a powerful sequence of visual images the historic struggle of aboriginal
people through oppression, transcending into new beginnings on the road to
celebration. Only through the eyes of the child, who magically receives the
truth, are the spirits of wisdom, strength, and the beauty reawakened for all to
share.

3.The Ten Second Empire
Man's existence is hindered by his sexual appetite for unconscious death. The
woman stands as mediator between father and child - a face, an idea that
fabricates a mirror image of it's creator. "The Ten Second Empire:" the
euphoric domain of orgasm, that brief encounter with the ecstasy in death.
