2. Speed Racer: Welcome to the World of Vic Chesnutt

Speed Racer introduses the audience to the twenty-seven year old singer/songwriter from Athens, Georgia, Vic Chesnutt. Director Peter Sillen uses the recording of Vic's second album as a vehicle to enter Chesnutt's all impressionistic, spirited world There we find a uniquely talented Southern lyricist who's songwriting is paralleled by few his age. Through song and interview Vic speakes to the audience in his own unique Southern tounge. Although he is restricted to a wheelchair and has only partial use of his strumming hand Vic is capable of mesmerizing the audience with song. In the end, the film captures the true spirit of this remarkably gifted young man dubbed the "Critic's Little Darling".

3. Greetings From Out Here

Tounge - in - cheek and the pedal to the metal, Ellen Spiro and dog Sam travel backroads of the American South documenting gay life in the boonies and beyond. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes poignantly moving, and always enthralling, the mood of "Greetings From Out Here" changes as often as does the weather on the backroads of Spiro's South With its hubcap decorated shacks, its embracing landscapes, its hilariously improbable place names, and most of all its extraordinary people.
