Leslie argues that the Great American Novelist was Herman Melville. Well, as much as either of us can agree that such a person really exists. The great American Novelist that is, not Melville; we're pretty sure he was actually around. I always argued for Mark Twain but I guess that just makes me politically incorrect, juvenile, and rather uninformed. Regardless, this picture was painted by a cat named Alex Neville, one of my former co-workers from the Jiveass.com Cafe. I'm afraid that no matter how much I played with the image in Photoshop that I still didn't do it justice..
