DIY Antennas

Chinese Strainer Antenna

Chinese Strainer Antenna
Description : For my applied E&M class, we built our own Wi-Fi antennas. This one is made from a chinese noodle strainer, a copper wire and some sheeting, and a bnc connector. It didn't do as well as the Yaggi and coffee can antennas, but it did perform better than the commerical one. I'm a happy geek.

Just had one of our students ( here in Wellington, New Zealand) point out your approach. Bravo - you'd do MUCH better with a USB WiFi adaptor at the FP however. See => www.usbwifi.orcon.net.nz
